Design and implement solutions leveraging Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) patterns to enable large-scale interoperability across many agencies and organizations within the federal government. Harden and transition simulation algorithms towards Web Services-based integrations, visualizing algorithmic capabilities with Web 2.0 and Rich Internet Application (RIA) platforms. Work with existing or create new services to interact with identified algorithms. Research and deliver best-practices guidance for service-enabling systems using industry standards in multiple communities and architect, design, and implement service-enabled, interoperable systems. Perform in a hands-on integration role using Java and J2EE, .NET, SOAP, XML, database skills, Object Oriented analysis and design concepts, and Enterprise Service Bus-like middleware technology. Survey and conceptualize use of non-traditional means to establish interoperability in a Web Services-centric SOA environment, using technologies such as OWL/RDF, XMPP, Atom, and Rendezvous. Work with the existing and emerging Web services standards, and emerging Web technologies, including Atom, XMPP, AJAX, and JSON to define next generation integration and collaboration platforms.
QualificationsBasic Qualifications: -6 years of experience with software engineering and architecture -5 years of experience with building Java and J2EE applications -2 years of experience with developing against XML and XML Schema -2 years of experience with SOAP and WSDL -Ability to obtain a security clearance -BA or BS degree
Additional Qualifications: -3 years of experience in consulting environments -2 years of experience with system architecture development -Experience with distributed computing systems or EAI and ESB concepts -Experience with developing UML -Experience with WS-* standards and specifications, including WS-Policy, WS-Security, WS-Addressing, and UDDI -Experience with building J2EE applications -Knowledge of SOA concepts and implementation patterns -Ability to work independently and within a team environment -Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills -Active Secret clearance a plus
