Plant manager candidates must demonstrate a desire to effectively assist the General Manager in the daily technical operation of the Biodiesel plant. The plant manager will serve as a significant contributor to the overall mission of the facility, responsible for efficient operation of many aspects of the Biodiesel plant. Direct supervision, hiring, motivation, and retention of other key employees are important aspects of the desired performance of the successful candidate.
Description The manager undertakes to provide the Company all services necessary to manage and oversee the daily operations of the Plant in accordance with sound plant management principles and practices in a manner calculated to maximize the production of the Plant and to maximize the Net Income produced by the Plant, including but not limited to all necessary management and oversight services relating to all procurement, production, marketing, personnel, and administrative operations of the Plant.
The Manager shall have the duties and responsibilities to:
-Provide the daily management of the Plant and perform and supervise the various administrative functions reasonably necessary for the management of the Plant.
-Select vendors, suppliers, and independent contractors and subcontractors necessary with respect to the operation of the Plant and hire, discharge, and supervise all employees required for the operation of the Plant.
-Negotiate and enter into such agreements as the Manager deems necessary or advisable for the furnishing of utilities, services, concessions and supplies for the operation, maintenance, and repair of the Plant.
-Cause the Plant to be operated in accordance with any statute, ordinance, law, rule, regulation or order of any governmental or regulatory body having jurisdiction over the Plant and obtain and maintain, on behalf of and in the name of Company, all licenses and permits required in connection with the ownership of the Plant.
-Obtain and keep in force, fire, comprehensive liability, property casualty, workers compensation and other insurance policies commonly carried with respect to manufacturing facilities similar to the Plant and such other insurance policies required from time to time by Company.
-Make or cause to be made all necessary repairs and maintenance of the Plant.
-Provide the periodic reports.
-Prior to the Plant's commencement of operations, and prior to the end of each fiscal year of Company thereafter, present to Company for approval an annual budget for Plant operations for the upcoming year.
Requirements Minimum of four-year college degree required. Relevant fields could include chemical engineering, process engineering, mechanical engineering, agriculture, grain science, feed science, milling science, chemistry, oil refining, petroleum or petroleum engineering, business management, accounting/finance, operations management and/or related fields.
Must have a minimum of 4 years relevant work experience including plant management experience. Some petroleum, biodiesel, chemical, ethanol, or production process background is required. Working knowledge of budgeting processes and financial statements preferred.
