Our client is a company with a rich history of growth and innovation whose products address virtually every lighting requirement for commercial and industrial applications.
POSITION:
The District Sales Manager is responsible for leading a direct sales team for a geographic region covering Ventura, Los Angeles, Riverside, and San Diego by mentoring and supervising the sales representatives and inside sales personnel.
KEY
RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Manage accounts by calling on customers either personally or with sales representatives, particularly major accounts, to foster/enhance relationships as well as focus on further market penetration
* Prepare marketstrategy for major products within market segment
* Introduce newproducts
* Prepare salesforecasts, budgets, and other projections required
* Ensure all inside sales activities including customer service, quotations, project management, and inside sales duties are successfully performed
* Keep senior management informed of economic, competitive, and other factors affecting region with recommendations for improvements/changes
* Stay abreast of day-to-day issues of the direct sales team, partner with other departments or divisions as needed special events.
REQUIREMENTS:
* Education: Bachelor'sDegree
* Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive sales experience in the lighting industry calling on architects, engineers, and lighting consultants
* Superior sales ability including excellent negotiating skills and successful track record with sales assignments, experience selling specification and/or technical type products
* Excellent leadership/mentoring skills, and the ability to motivate others
