We currently have an outstanding opportunity for a Director Quality Systems in Monterey, CA. The Director Quality Systems will lead, plan, drive, and execute significant improvements in the area of quality and process control. This highly-visible position will lead the development of a comprehensive quality improvement system, using the ISO9001 framework and related industry best-practices. The ultimate goal of this position is for CTB to achieve ISO9001 registration. Essential Accountabilities: Develop and manage a program plan for the creation and execution of CTB's quality management system Develop comprehensive documentation procedures and standards that cover all key processes in the business in accordance with ISO9001 standards; drive departments to complete documentation Monitor and audit processes to ensure they are compliant to the documented standards Ensure departments are maintaining adequate quality records and product traceability Work with departments to establish effective and appropriate quality inspection routines, with corrective action where necessary Partner with Business Process Management staff in the area of continuous improvement, lean, and six sigma Support customer and supplier audits as needed A minimum of a Bachelors degree. An advanced degree is strongly preferred. Minimum 15 years in quality assurance in increasingly more senior/complex leadership roles in the field of quality. Minimum 10 years of management experience. Deep working knowledge of ISO9001 standards (mandatory) Significant experience in obtaining and maintaining ISO9001 registration across multiple sites (mandatory) ASQ certifications high desirable. Experienced in use of electronic databases, online tools, and desktop applications Strong familiarity with statistical methods for sampling and data analysis Experience with documentation systems, document review, and process auditing practices. Must be detail oriented. A forthright communicator exhibiting very strong verbal, written and presentation skills, and is able to state expectations clearly and be visible to employees. Strong hands-on skills and not hesitant to jump in and perform work when needed, but generally gets the work done through others. Highly energetic and pragmatic. An excellent motivator who generates excitement and enthusiasm within the organization, gaining commitments, empowering others to be proactive, negotiating persuasively, mediating to resolve conflicts and effectively influencing upward, downward and across.
