General office tasks in a neighborhood optical and optometrist office which include phone answering, managing patient requests and appointments, verifying and billing insurance companies, and dealing with a point of sale system for purchases. This requires general computer use knowledge and excellent attitude when dealing with the general public and fellow staff members. We have a single doctor office with 3 employees with varying scheules and skills. A desire to learn optician skills is also required and expected to grow with experience. A high school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Highly desired is one or more years of experience in a medical, dental or optometric office.
