We are a dynamic company that manufactures waste heat generators (WHG) and microturbine generation systems for the renewable and distributed energy markets. Our products are designed to help our clients manage their energy costs. We are currently seeking an innovative Engineering Technician to join our team in Cerritos, CA.
Engineering Technician
The Engineering Technician will support the design, test and validation of systems specifically with respect to implementation of Power Electronics (Inverters and variable freq drives), Magnetic Bearings and Motor/Generator systems. Responsibilities for this role include:
• Utilizes computers and other test equipment to achieve goals
• Applies principles and techniques of electrical/mechanical systems to accomplish goals
• Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
• Leads and directs the work of others as needed
• A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will be a self motivated individual with the ability to work independently with little to no supervision. The candidate must be able to work effectively in a cross functional team to achieve goals. A quick thinker who can solve problems that arise methodically is highly desired.
• Minimum 5 years of experience with rotating machinery or mechanical/electrical systems
• Hands on mechanical experience with building and fabricating using metal and wood.
• Ability to create temporary testing facilities (enclosures, wiring, plumbing) with minimal input
• Piping, AC wiring, schematic reading, grinders, MIG welding, DC wiring and circuit board soldering, use of multimeter
• Understanding of fundamental electrical concepts, for example AC/DC, power, current, voltage, ESD, frequency, phase and etc
• Familiarity with electrical components such as resistors, capacitors, inductors, op-amps, diodes, transistors, power supplies and etc
• Soldering - surface mount soldering preferred.
• Familiarity with scope, LCR meters, high voltage probes, and willingness to learn how to use other instrumentation including frequency analyzer
• Proficient computer skill, mainly MS Office (Excel and Word)
• Must be able to lift +50lbs
• Field service experience a plus
