http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BFJInEUV5uo THE JOB *We have one position open for a business-to-business sales representative in your area. *There is no overnight travel. *All territories are established. *Pre-qualified prospects are provided by NFIB (cold leads). *This position is purely business development and existing account renewals. *There is no account management after the sale. The primary objective of the sale is to recruit business owners into an annual membership, which ranges in price from $100 to $5000 per year. This is not insurance sales, and you do not need a license. NFIB has developed a very effective consultative presentation that has been used effectively for over 65 years. Calling on prospects provided by the company, you will meet with business owners to discuss their political, regulatory, and taxation concerns. Presentations close roughly 20% of the time, at an average sale of $200-$300 per year. Commissions range from 40% to 70% of the gross sale amount. The sale is typically a 1-call-close.   You inherit the existing NFIB members within your territory who have joined within the past two years, and you begin renewing these members after roughly three months on the job. You receive a 30% commission on the renewal amount for all renewals, which means your residual income grows year after year as you grow your account base. Renewals close over 60% of the time on average, with a national average of over 70% renewal rate.  Sales reps also have the opportunity to earn significant bonuses, which are paid out quarterly.  This is a career opportunity, with some employees retiring after 20-30 years with the company. COMPENSATION
The company classifies employees as W-2, with excellent benefits, including a 401(k), a strong ongoing company support system, and affordable medical, dental, and vision coverage after 30 days for you and your dependents. The compensation begins with four weeks of paid training ($800/week training salary for the first week; $600/week training salary for weeks 2-4). If, during weeks 2-4, your commissions exceed the training salary, you will be paid commissions instead. The four weeks of training are structured to prepare you for consistent success in the field.   Successful first-year reps can earn from $40K-$70K+, with $100K+ realistic within 2-3 years for top producers. There is no cap on earnings. The #1 membership representative in 2008 earned roughly $270K.  If you are hired, you will be mentored into the position with a combination of classroom training and field training during your first four weeks. Your manager or a sales trainer will train you in your local territory during these four weeks. If you are a top producer, you may have the opportunity for promotion into training or sales management.
WHAT NFIB IS LOOKING FOR *Outside sales experience is preferred. *You must be genuinely concerned about the success of small businesses in America. *This is a very independent position, so you must be a self-starter. *You must have access to your own transportation. *Your driving record must meet NFIB's minimum standards (no DUI's in the past 3 years; no more than 3 moving violations in the past three years.) This position has a short sales cycle (1-2 call close), so your success depends greatly upon your ability to make a good first impression -connecting with the business owner in 5-10 minutes. A firm belief in the organization's pro-small business agenda will definitely improve your closing ratio. The interview process is very informative. Before an offer is extended, you will spend a day in the field riding with an experienced membership rep. Your expectations of the position will be based upon a real-life experience.
