Position Summary
:
Business leader with significant experience in both Product Management/Product Marketing, who can manage a core product line. Overall product champion with responsibilities including messaging, content and positioning for core product deliverables, as well as maintaining product roadmap, working with partners, developing detailed requirements & implementing them with the team.
Duties and Responsibilities:
* SPLM will Interface with R&D, Sales, Corporate Marketing & Executive Team to develop product strategy and roadmaps to successfully meet company goals.
* Manage the entire product line life cycle from strategic planning to tactical activities, including the coordination of release planning process to launch next generation products
* Collaborate to define market requirements for current and future products based on market research, competitive analysis, understanding of the market, customer feedback, sales and support departments
* Write market and product requirements documents (MRD & PRD) for use by R&D, QA & documentation
* Develop sales and marketing collateral, press releases, web site copy and internal training
* Create messaging, positioning for core product deliverable
* Assist with business development efforts to identify potential partners and develop mutually beneficial relationships and products

Essential Education, Experience, Skills, and Abilities:
* 8 years experience, with 5 years experience as a Product Manager; or Product Marketing Manager, with product management responsibilities
* Ability to authoring collateral for installed base campaigns – upgrade programs, cross-sell and up-sell programs
* The ideal candidate will have experience with online (SaaS) services
* Experience with a vendor of web conferencing, shared workspaces and other collaboration products is highly desired
* The candidate must possess strong communication skills – writing, speech, and inter-personal skills
* Being highly skilled at creating compelling, relevant, and differentiated messaging is a critical success factor for this role
* Proven experience to take ownership of a product line and drive to market
* Strong understanding of the development lifecycle
* Must possess strong leadership capabilities with a track record of successfully managing product management/product marketing cross-functionally to deliver quality products
* Self starter with experience working in a small- to medium-sized, fast-paced manufacturing company
* Ability to be able to work with minimal supervision/direction/structure is essential
* Quantitative abilities to analyze opportunities, optimize feature design and monitor and analyze business results
* Excellent judgment in making tradeoffs and finding simple solutions to complex problems
* Bachelors' degree in Computer Science/Engineering related degree is required. Masters Degree is preferred (MSCS, MSCE, MSEE, MBA, or closely related)
