Escendent, a full service professional services firm is seeking a Database Architect for our client which is located in Shrewsbury, NJ area. This is a contract position, 12 months to start. As long as your performance is strong, contract extension beyond 6 months is very high (this project is slated to go through 2011).

Note: U.S. citizenship required and you must be able to successfully complete a Federal background investigation (no sponsorship available).

Role/Project Synopsis:
• Designs, models, documents, and guides the logical and conceptual relationship of data and database changes for complex applications.
• Analyzes needs and requirements of existing and proposed systems, and develops technical, structural, and organizational specifications.
• May create standards and/or do modeling to monitor and enhance capacity and performance.
• Repository will be maintained on a government site with full access to on-site and off-site personnel requiring access.
• Assist in development of access controls and manage the repository to ensure configuration management.
• Provide inputs to monthly report to the government containing the names and organization of personnel accessing the repository as well as a description of the repository structure.
• Recommend appropriate opportunities to conduct User Group meetings at least annually.
• Assist with managing the packaging and distribution of all M&S software managed by the Government and requested by internal and external users.
• Provide database and System Administrative and routine software and operations support.
• Provide support as directed for pre-project development, including scope and size requirements; recommending level and type of support by functional skill sets; recommending options for leveraging or meeting requirements.
• Support project approval activities, abstract development, project proposal briefings, and documentation, as requested by project leads.
• Coordinate within own and other departments for core support services and Research & Analysis functions.
• Provide support to all phases of the experiment design and execution process; attending meetings, providing briefings, and demonstrations to familiarize Project, Technical and Experimentation Support Leads with capabilities and limitations.


Requirements:
• MUST HAVE extensive experience in developing, designing and implementing database programs for classified and unclassified computers and servers in the Windows 2000/2003/XP or later operating environment, Sun Solaris, and UNIX and/or LINUX operating systems.
• Experience with service and joint M&S databases.
• Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science Information Systems Management or Computer Science Application Management or related technical field; or no degree and three (5-7) years experience with computer database systems, and distributed and relational database application development.
