McGraw-Hill Professional has an exciting opportunity for a Director, Inventory/Supply Chain
based in our New York City
office.
The purpose of the Director, Inventory/Supply Chain
is to lead the book finished goods inventory supply chain management function for McGraw-Hill Professional. The person in this role will plan, monitor and manage the domestic book inventory including the supply chain with key customers, and monitor the global book inventory levels and requirements at McGraw-Hill International subsidiaries.
Essential Accountabilities:
* Develop, track, analyze and report on appropriate metrics to measure, monitor and manage risks and opportunities within the inventory investment. At a minimum, key metrics include months supply and inventory turnover at the sponsor and or brand detail level for Professional inventory, and the number of weeks of inventory within key customers supply chains and the associated A/R days sales outstanding (DSO).
* Monitor inventory levels, orders and returns at our International subsidiaries.
* Monitor and manage distribution partner consigned and other inventories.
* Suggest, approve, and/or make decisions on print run quantities and shipment quantities as appropriate.
* Work with the VP Finance to improve return on assets (ROA).
* Monitor excess inventory and identify liquidation opportunities to mitigate destruction costs for obsolete inventory.
* Identify and implement actions to reduce damaged returns.
Qualifications* Bachelors Degree in logistics, operations or finance/accounting.
* 8 years related experience.
* Publishing experience a plus.
* Strong system skills and experience improving business processes required.
* Team-oriented leader, business partner, change agent, highly organized, self starter.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills.
