Job Purpose

The Field Engineer will be responsible for the completion of the field work associated with new installations as determined by Project Management and field work associated with repair/maintenance issues as determined by our Field Services Manager.  The field work will include wiring and testing of T1 and POTS circuits, analog and digital equipment installation and testing, networking and cabling including VoIP solutions.  This position requires an innovative, enthusiastic, organized individual who is highly technically competent regarding networking products and equipment.  The successful execution of this position of Field Engineer will result in a high degree of customer and vendor satisfaction.
Attendance is required in this position.


Essential Functions

50% - Configuration, setup, installation and repair or our VoIP product line including routers, switches,  firewalls and their necessary cabling 30% - Configuration and setup using our Broadsoft Software Switch 10% - Paperwork completion and reporting 5% - Uncovering billable labor opportunities 5% - Fulfilling customer support requests via telephone


Education
Four years of High School or equivalent

Experience / Background
3 to 5 years

Previous Job Experience 3 to 5 Years


Analog  and digital VoIP phone system solutions
Ethernet LAN implementation and troubleshooting
Configuring, setup, and troubleshooting of routers, switches, and gateways
Cat5 Cabling experience


Special Knowledge / Skills / Abilities


Expert troubleshooting skills and experience
Internet, Ethernet, and networking skills
Experience with Cisco, Carrier Access, Linksys, Edgewater, Adtran and Polycom hardware
Experience with Broadsoft Software
Strong communication skills
