POSITION SUMMARY:
The primary responsibility of this role is to provide the technical expertise to analyze, design, propose and oversee/implement complex solutions based on Microsoft technologies. These solutions will include both core Microsoft technologies as well as solutions focused on desktop, server data centre management and consolidation.
This role will also require the candidate to work closely with the clients to fully understand their business requirements and based on those requirements design and implement a proposed solution.
LEVEL OVERVIEW
The Consultant Level works on assignments that are very complex in nature where judgment is required in resolving problems and making routine recommendations. Responsible for translating customer needs into cohesive recommendations and solutions. Provides significant support in research studies, analyses, design reviews, and technical briefings. Makes decisions on operating procedures, analytical approaches and workflow.
Requires minimum 6 years consulting experience, Bachelors degree, technical training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
SPECIALITY
Experience consulting in large scale design and migration projects involving Active Directory, Exchange 2007. Preference will be given to candidates that have migration experience from Novell eDirectory & GroupWise to Microsoft technologies.
Must possess MCSE certification, or be within six months of attaining these certifications.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Works with other team members to design and implement complex migration solutions.
Has a programmatic background and capabilities to design and develop migration scripts.
Provides support for complex multi-system installations.
Solves network software and hardware problems using testing tools and techniques.
Reviews integrated systems design proposals for technical content. Identifies, analyzes, and evaluates alternative design solutions.
Provides technical network integration support encompassing physical planning, configuration, and installation of network hardware and software.
Ensures design proposals meet customer needs.
Monitors implementations for technical correctness for the highest level of customer satisfaction.
Develops customer support plans for complex solutions.
Assumes principal technical role in presentations by furnishing technical expertise and responding to customer inquiries on hardware and software.
Develops information technology architecture and total systems solutions.
Designs quality control procedures to ensure the deliverables meet established design and performance goals.
