We are currently seeking an Administrative Assistant - Accounting for our Corporate Financial Reporting Department. This person would be responsible for the administrative support of the financial statement preparation process. The duties would include maintenance of various databases, basic accounting entries, managing approval processes, and posting quarter, month, and year end reports. Additionally this role would provide support for ad hoc projects and miscellaneous administrative and accounting tasks.
Responsibilities: Create and maintain monthly accounting schedules and calendars Update the report database used for the monthly close process Review and submit payment requests for state assessments and fees as well as update assessment and fee database Prepare and complete quarterly and annual statement assignments within deadline Submit quarterly and annual filings with state regulators Administrative support for updating and maintaining general ledger accounts Update and maintain year-end assignment tracking database Prepare journal entries and reconciliations Support special projects as required
Job Requirements:
Excellent organizational skills with great attention to detail and accuracy Outstanding customer service skills Superb written and oral communication skills Ability to operate, assist in design of, and maintain complex personal computer system applications Proficient to advanced skills with all MS Office products (especially Excel, Access, Word) SharePoint a plus Proven skills working independently and as an integral member of a larger team Ability to meet deadlines under pressure Minimum of 2 years experience working in a large accounting office setting Background in insurance is a plus, AA degree preferred
