Title: HIM Director Job Summary: The Director of Health Information Management directs and manages the operations and activities of the Health Information Management Department. Responsible for the overall management of the department''s daily operations to achieve goals and objectives established by upper management. Responsible for staff performance and the accomplishment of departmental responsibilities in accordance with corporate, hospital, department and safety policies and procedures to meet both company and regulatory requirements.
Requirements:- BS degree in Medical Record Administration or AS degree in Medical Record Technology - Graduate from an approved program in Medical Record Administration/Technology - Successful completion of the National Registration/Accreditation examination given by the American Health Information Management Association - Two to four years of extensive experience in a supervisory or department Director position is required Educational requirements contained in this field supercede any educational requirements contained elsewhere in this job posting.
