Click Here to Apply Online The Office of Technical Service is seeking a doctoral-level Social Psychologist to serve as a consultant to the Intelligence Community on the cultural, behavioral and personality characteristics of specific groups or societies. The candidate will provide an understanding of the influence of culture on individual and group behavior, motivation, beliefs, cognitive style and decision-making processes. Additional responsibilities will be to conduct research to examine an individual's behavior in the context of his/her culture or group, and to provide customized training that will articulate research findings in practical and applicable terms. The candidate will work closely with the Chief, Research and Analysis Branch in creating, managing and implementing a research and development program to address these issues. Minimum requirements include a PhD in social psychology, with a background in cross-cultural issues. Experience with foreign cultures, demonstrated research experience (preferably in cross-cultural issues or influencing change in attitudes and beliefs), excellent writing/briefing and interpersonal skills, and flexibility to adapt to changing requirements are also needed. Some domestic and foreign travel may be required. Foreign language capability, experience living or working overseas, and a demonstrated record of publications are pluses. All applicants must successfully complete a thorough medical and psychological exam, a polygraph interview and an extensive background investigation. US citizenship is required.
