Job Description
This role will involve maintenance and development of one of Reference Data Group’s Product and Pricing applications: the Securities Master Database (SMD). SMD uses Perl, Shell script and Java to populate a Sybase database. The candidate should have a structured approach to design, development and testing due to the critical nature of the application. The ability to work in a global team is essential in this role.


-Develop new functionality and enhancements to the SMD application.
-Investigate production batch or data quality issues to identify cause and resolution

Qualifications
Bachelors Degree is highly preferred or equivalent professional experience.
Minimum 2 years working in a commercial environment with a structured development methodology
Investment banking or market data (terms & conditions / pricing) development experience is desirable but not required
Extensive experience with Java (design, coding standards, performance tuning, and debugging)
Strong SQL skills (query design, stored procedure development)
Working knowledge of UNIX and UNIX scripting
Good object oriented programming skills
Experience with Subversion or other version control software is desirable but not required
Good communication skills
Multi-regional team skills (this hire must be able to actively participate in a global team)
Organized and delivery focused


Payrate
45 – 55 Per Hour
