Emergency Department Director is needed in southern Texas. Medical center is a full service 326 bed facility that has been providing services to the area for over 100 years. The medical center is committed to providing the latest technology through functional facilities, caring patient-focused services and quality. The Unit Director generally reports to the CNO and is responsible for directing and coordinating the ED in a manner reflective of the hospitals philosophy and objective for maintaining required supplies and staffing as well as acting as liaison between the hospital administration and staff. The director will also serve as the Nurse Administrator on-call, as necessary, to provide leadership and management to personnel during the off hours. Ideal candidate will have a B.S. in Nursing, have 2 years supervisory experience, and 3 years experience in a hospital or medically related environment. A registered nurse license, BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification is required. Candidate who is able to follow directions and to perform work according to department standards when no directions are given, is emotionally mature and able to function effectively under stress, has excellent written and verbal communications skills, and has the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the public would be a perfect fit.
