Part Time Weekend Pharmacist

Responsibilities:
As the Pharmacist, you will compound and dispense prescribed medications, drugs and other pharmaceuticals for patient care by performing the following duties:

• Review prescriptions issued by Physician or other authorized prescriber to assure accuracy and determine formulas and ingredients needed
• Compound medications, using standard formulas and processes such as weighing, measuring and mixing ingredients
• Direct pharmacy workers engaged in mixing, packaging and labeling pharmaceuticals
• Answer questions and provide information to pharmacy customers on drug interactions, side effects, dosage and storage of pharmaceuticals
• Maintain established procedures concerning quality assurance, security of controlled substances and disposal of hazardous waste drugs
• Enter data such as patient name, prescribed medication and cost, to maintain pharmacy files, charge system and inventory
• Assay medications to determine identity, purity and strength
• Instruct interns and other medical personnel on matters pertaining to pharmacy

Qualifications:
• Valid Florida Pharmacist Licensure
• 2+ years experience working with long term care facilities or nursing homes
• Must have the ability to manage staff/workflow in a fast-paced pharmacy
• Initial and final review of long-term order experience preferred
• Infusion therapy experience preferred

Schedule:
Part time - Saturday and Sunday ONLY, 9 am to 5 pm
