The Director provides 24/7 supervision of nursing care and department operations at the hospital s emergency and urgent care centers. Under the guidance of the Patient Care Administrator/Chief Nursing Officer the Director ensures that emergency nurse practice standards are maintained; that department and organization quality initiatives are achieved; that patient/customer satisfaction goals are met and sustained; and that emergency service fiscal goals are appropriately established and met. The Director is also responsible for developing and/or collaborating in the development of operational policies, procedures and practice protocols; effectively coordinating emergency care services with other departments and/or when appropriate, outside entities; for the long and short-range planning of emergency services and for the fostering of staff and emergency physician commitment to the KVCH mission, vision, and guiding principles.
A Bachelors Degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing program is required. A Masters Degree in Nursing, business or related healthcare field strongly preferred with three (3) consecutive years of clinical emergency nursing experience and one (1) year of Emergency Department Director level experience required. A current Washington State Registered Nurse Licensure; BLS upon hire; ACLS within 4 months of employment; TNCC and ENPC within one (1) year of employment are also required.
