Sr. Software Engineer

Job Requirements:

• Be expected to apply all basic and some specialized knowledge in embedded systems firmware design and documentation.
• Be able to assume technical leadership of major project efforts. It may also include supervision or work direction of 1 – 3 junior engineers or technicians.
• Provide hands-on participation on cross-functional project teams in the development of new industrial products. The job will include any necessary tasks, including documentation and verification of final product software.
• Assure integration of designs with electrical, mechanical, optical, test and manufacturing capabilities in order to ensure successful products are delivered on time while meeting agreed product performance.
• Strong embedded software skills
• 16, 32 bit microprocessor implementation
• Digital Signal Processing
• Experience with UML diagrams
• Programming of automated data acquisition hardware
• Understanding and implementation of Real Time Operating Systems (RTOS)
• Creative problem solving and a customer-based perspective
• Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills

Must have:

• Proficient use of high-level programming languages such as C, Visual Studio or C++ (Java and / or C# experience is a plus)
• Experience with communication networks / protocols, wireless communication experience.
• Understanding of software lifecycle management.
• BSEE, BSCE, or CS required from an ABET-accredited program; MS in Computer Engineering or Computer Science would be a very strong plus.
• 5 years required for the Sr. level position.
