Description Prosys Information Systems is searching for a controller to manage the accounting function. The candidate must possess strong accounting and leadership skills. The company has recently emerged from more than two years of financial restatement and is looking for the right person to strengthen the company’s accounting controls. KEY STRENGTHS DESIRED: - Strong Revenue Recognition Background • Implement and maintain a revenue recognition policy that complies with GAAP, and work with the sales and other teams to ensure that issues are addressed thoroughly and timely • SEC Staff Accounting Bulleting No. 104, “Revenue Recognition” (“SAB 104”) • EITF 00-21, “Revenue Arrangements with Multiple Deliverables” (“EITF 00-21”) • EITF 99-19, “Reporting Revenue Gross as a Principal vs. Net as an Agent” (“EITF 99-19”) • EITF 01-14 “Income Statement Characterization of Reimbursements Received for “Out of Pocket Expenses” (EITF 01-14”) • FTB 90-1, “Accounting for Separately Priced Extended Warranty and Product Maintenance Contracts” (“FTB 90-1”) • SOP 81-1, “Accounting for Performance of Construction-Type and Certain Production-Type Contracts” (“SOP 81-1”) - Accounting System Implementation Experience • The company is currently in the final phase of an upgrade from Great Plains version 7 to 10. - Inventory Management Experience • A large portion of the company’s transactions are drop shipped and require strong in-transit inventory control processes. - Technology Background Requirements 1. Generate company financial statements according to GAAP on a timely and consistent basis. a. Closing and reporting b. Reserve accruals c. Account audits & reconciliations d. Real time, daily, and weekly reporting requirements 2. Implement company-wide accounting processes, procedures and controls a. Revenue recognition b. Inventory management c. AR collection d. Uninvoiced liability management e. A/R and inventory reserves 3. Integrate systems and reporting a. FrX b. Hyperion c. Great Plains 4. Coordinate quarterly reviews and annual audit with external auditors 5. Manage sales tax reporting, compliance and audits 6. Manage Process Improvement Initiatives including SOX404
