JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title: Regional Sales Manager
Summary of Position: Supervise and support the Technical Sales Representatives within his/her identified territory. Work with the management team to establish and implement sales strategies throughout the territory.
Reports to: National Sales Director
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
1.Direct, coordinate, and review activities of Technical Sales Representatives and Inside Sales Manager
2.Represent company at trade association meetings to promote products.
3.Train TSRs on sales strategies, company policy and procedures.
4.Produce monthly sales reports based on TSR reports and market information
5.Recommends and sells valves and controls utilizing knowledge of valve and actuation applications.
6.Computes installation or production costs, estimates savings, and participates in preparation and submission of bid specifications to customer for review and approval.
7.Attends sales and trade meetings and reads related publications to obtain current market condition information, business trends, and industry developments.
8.Inspects establishment premises to verify installation feasibility, and obtains specifications and drawings to submit to engineering department for bid.
9.Demonstrates and explains use of installed equipment and production processes.
10.Arranges for installation and test-operation of machinery and recommends solutions to product-related problems.
11.Contacts current and potential customers, visits establishments to evaluate needs, and promotes sale of products and services
12.Resolve customer complaints regarding sales and service.
13.Monitor customer preferences to determine focus of sales efforts.
14.Participate in preparation of Quotes per specifications.
Education and Experience:Requires a Bachelors Degree in Business or a Technical discipline, 5+ years of experience in the field or in a related area and 2-4 years of supervisory experience. Knowledge of valves, actuators, and controls strongly preferred.Additional Skills Required: Requires knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products or services. This includes marketing strategy and tactics, product demonstration, sales techniques, and sales control systems. Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction. Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources. Requires excellent computer skills, ability to work with detail, good organizational skills, solid math skills, superb time management skills, and excellent problem solving ability.
