Click Here to Apply OnlineOur client, a large Food Manufacturing company, is currently seeking a National Account Manager. The position can work from anywhere in the country, but a large amount of travel will be required (50-70%). The client is very product specific and will require applicants to have the listed food product experience. They also require the National Account Manager to have a technical degree, preferably in Food Science, as a large part of this position requires solid knowledge and experience in Research & Development (R&D) / Product Development
. When dealing with clients, the Account Manager must be very technical sound and know what he/she is talking about in regards to Product Development. A Sales/Account manager with experience as a Food Scientist/Technologist would be ideal. This position comes with a very desirable salary, along with a 25% bonus. Major Duties And Responsibilities:
1. Drive new sales with existing customers through innovative collaboration in the development of customer's new product initiatives.
2. Utilize a consultative, value-added sales approach geared toward facilitating customer design and development of new products.
3. Work with product development staff to further identify customer needs and new product opportunities.
4. Develop sales plans, contracts and forecasts in support of the company's strategies and objectives.
5. Promote and improve customer service and communication with customers.
6. Review and supervise broker / agent activities.
7. Manage and control sales expense.
This position requires regular internal contact with the Director Sales & Marketing and other sales staff, Quality Control, production management, product development and finance functions. Externally, the National Account Manager will maintain direct contact with the customer base, brokers / agents, and trade groups / associations as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Bachelors Degree in food science or related field
Experience: Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible sales and sales management in the food ingredient, food service, seasoning industry
. Prior experience managing sales on a regional level with experience in applications based selling.

Abilities: Excellent interpersonal communication skills (including presentation skills); ability to address tactical issues in the short-term while maintaining strategic vision for the long-term; ability to remain organized and focused on results; the ability to work effectively in a team oriented environment.
