A NYC downtown multi-platform media publishing growing company needs New Media Publisher / Chief Operating Officer

Job Description

I.
Position summary: The position is responsible for the overall administration and business operations. Areas of responsibility include administration, personnel and fiscal management. This is a full-time position, hired by and directly accountable to the CEO.
The position is also responsible for ensuring the timely, cost effective, and high-quality production and delivery of news, knowledge and information to AIM subscribers through a variety of print and electronic vehicles. This position will manage daily operations for the publication team whose key outputs include business to business quarterly publications.

The position will maintain current publishing outputs at current standards while collaboratively developing and implementing a comprehensive print/electronic publications program that aligns with the strategic and operational goals of the company.
II. Responsibilities Management and administration
*
Develop and administer operational administrative policies.
*
Provide information for evaluation of the organization's activities.
*
Implements programs to ensure attainment of business plan for growth and profit
*
Provides direction and structure for operating units
*
Demonstrate successful execution of business strategies for company products and services. III. Fiscal
*
Ensure effective audit trails.
*
Approve expenditures.
*
Provide for proper fiscal record-keeping and reporting.
*
IV. Personnel
*
Administer board-approved personnel policies.
*
Provide for adequate supervision and evaluation of staff with administrative role.

Requirements

• Excellent interpersonal, communications, public speaking, and presentation skills.
• Solid working knowledge of budgeting, sales, business development, and strategic planning.
• Ability to generate respect and trust from staff and external constituencies.
• At least 10 years of experience, with 5 in an executive level position, such as general manager or vice president.
• Knowledge of and/or experience with multi-channel publishing vehicles.
Preferably, five (5) years experience in management a publications/publishing program and professional team including direct experience with magazines, newsletters, journals, printed books or electronic/web-based publishing formats
