McGraw-Hill Education is looking for a Senior Analyst, Strategy in our New York City offices. The role of the Senior Analyst, Strategy will be to work collaboratively with business unit executives, MHE Strategy & Business development team members and corporate Global Strategy to develop and implement market-informed strategies that drive market intelligence, experimentation, revenue growth and/ or margin improvement. The incumbent will gather and process internal and external market data in order to inform data-driven decision making. Essential Accountabilities: Support senior members of MHE Strategy & Business Development team, working in conjunction with corporate Global Strategy and business unit executives, to develop actionable, market-informed, customer-centric strategies for MOR's, MRP's, Board meetings and other venues. Work with business unit teams to source, aggregate and analyze market and internal data to identify shifts in market trends. Perform market and competitor analysis to support the evaluation of incoming requests from companies for investment and/or partnership. Support the design and implementation of at least one strategic initiative (strategic investment, partnership, business strategy, operations improvement) every year resulting in a new product, revenue-generating market opportunity or cost-savings opportunity with a year three value in excess of $5MM. Develop and maintain relationships with mid- and senior-level business unit executives, corporate Global Strategy and strategy & business development resources across McGraw-Hill Education. Bachelor's degree. 3-5 years total work experience with at least three years experience in top-tier management consulting (McKinsey, Bain, Booz, BCG), investment bank and / or Fortune 500 corporate strategy or business development. Experience in digital / online media preferred. Knowledge of one or more sectors of the education industry is preferred, but not required. Creative thinker experienced with new business models and product development. Knowledge of customer and competitor research gathering from primary and secondary sources. Experience with data-driven analytics and culling relevant insights. Excellent communication and presentation skills - writing, verbal. Ability to analyze complex problems and distill insights into frameworks that can be readily understood by senior executives (e.g., CEO Council, McGraw-Hill Board of Directors). Ability to interact with staff across levels, including customers and internal / external C-level executives and business unit managers. Excellent MS office skills - PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Access.
