Associate's Degree Assists the physician in the restoration of normal respiratory function in critically ill patients in accordance to established protocols and policies. The respiratory therapist is competent to provide services to patients from birth to adult geriatric. Minimum Requirements: Minimum of one year AMA. approved Respiratory Therapy school or equivalent Certified Respiratory Therapist or eligibility by the National Board of Respiratory Care; Experience as a Respiratory Therapist prior to employment is desired; New graduates considered Requires a broad knowledge of respiratory care procedures, respiratory equipment and patient evaluation using protocol systems; Must be Certified and/or Registered by the American Association of Respiratory Care (AARC) Must possess a New York State License or valid temporary permit
