SUMMARY OF DUTIES: This position is responsible for building a team of highly effective program managers with focus on best practices across projects. The Program Director has ultimate responsibility for the on-time, on-budget and quality delivery of multiple large complex projects that collectively support strategic Corporate and Marketing initiatives. The Program Director has a strategic view and understanding of the Marketing and Product Management portfolio of applications and projects and how they relate to enterprise efforts, and collaborates with senior management in IT and within the Marketing and Product Management business functions and their staff.
EDUCATION: Bachelors degree in Information Systems, Project Management or Business Management, or an equivalent combination of education, experience, and training.
PREFERRED EDUCATION: Masters degree, Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred from the Project Management Institute (PMI).
WORK EXPERIENCE:
-Extensive experience in a technology leadership role AND execution/delivery of large-scale business and technology programs/projects;
-Demonstrated IT program and project management experience in large-complex organizations with large multi-million-dollar IT project portfolio;
-Demonstrated ability and experience in building and leading strong functional IT delivery organization and high-performing IT program and project delivery teams;
-Extensive experience in collaborating with business and IT partners in setting up accountable delivery teams for multiple, cross-functional projects and driving disciplined, full-lifecycle IT program/project delivery (requirements, architecture, design, build, test, deploy);
-Strong experience in building and managing disciplined program/project tracking controls and reporting that that effectively keep stakeholders and executive leadership abreast of progress and engaged in resolving key issues/risks;
-Strong demonstrated technical leadership experience, preferably with prior experience in multiple, core IT functions (IT planning, architecture/design, application development, testing, operations, etc.);
-Strong ability to work under tight deadlines and maintain, positive can-do attitude and willingness to do whatever it takes to get things done;
-A strong team- and customer-focused IT leader with ability to work effectively with others (all levels) and build and maintain positive relationships;

PREFERRED WORK EXPERIENCE: Experience in an Airline and/or Travel-related industry and/or reservations systems (Sabre, Galileo, Worldspan, Apollo, Arrow, etc.) preferred. Prior experience in accountable leadership role(s) in large-scale (15 concurrent programs/projects) IT program/project execution and delivery organization.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to manage time sensitive projects under stressful conditions while maintaining a professional work manner, provide accurate financial analysis and reporting: measure progress against plan, track budget and forecasting elements from a program perspective, report to management and Integrate project schedules and identify critical path across program-related projects; manage program deliverables, including risk assessment, program scope, program organization, issues, and standards and control procedures..
