High energy, hands on, organized individual to develop, implement and manage a regional channel marketing program to drive increased market presence and channel revenue through their reseller, integration, co-marketing, and deployment partners worldwide, with particular focus on building brand preference and revenue increases within individual partners.
As the Channel Marketing Manager for our client, this individual will be responsible for the development, launch, and ongoing management of infrastructure to conduct effective marketing campaign with our top channel partners. The individual will collaborate with field marketing, product marketing, channel sales, other marketing personnel, and with partners to create and manage marketing plans and to package and promote joint solutions designed to drive incremental revenues for our client and their partners.
Responsibilities:
The position is directly responsible for generating market awareness and producing demand:
* Oversees all channel marketing activities such as direct mail/e-mail campaigns, seminars,
channel training, trade shows, advertising, and special promotions.
* Supports channel and partner sales and marketing teams with their collateral needs for events, mailings, newsletters, and other programs
* Works with channel partners and internal team on list development, targeting, program execution, and program measurement.
* Creates and implements quarterly channel marketing plans and the development of effective sales tools for LARs, VARs, and internal sales teams.
Skills:
The candidate must be a senior professional, able to quickly assess our mindshare among
partners and the channel and serve as an ally to indirect sales teams in designing a winning channel marketing approach.
The ideal candidate will have the following skills:
* Significant multi-tiered indirect channel marketing experience.
* Experience with corporate resellers, e-commerce, large consulting and/or global systems integration firms, as well as with alliance partners.
* Proven ability in leading marketing within a large reseller/distributor is a plus.
* Co-marketing experience with Microsoft an advantage.
* Experience in marketing content security software a definite advantage (document technologies experience also of interest).
* Experience negotiating distribution or reseller contracts a plus. 3-5 years channel marketing leadership experience, preferably in volume enterprise software
* History of proactive, creative, and independent thinking.
* Budgeting experience
* Must be skilled at negotiation, technical products and the software reseller (VARs, corporate resellers, catalogers, e-commerce) channel.
* Successful track record in helping to grow sales with key resellers through merchandising, ROP and other reseller programs.
* Thorough understanding of the channel and corporate buying habits.
* Possesses strong work ethic, i.e., works intelligently, honestly and with integrity.
