Manager of Tax Compliance and Planning
General Responsibilities
Reporting to the Director of Tax, the Tax Manager will assist the Director in all aspects of income tax compliance, tax reporting, research, and planning.
Specific Responsibilities
* Assist with all domestic and foreign aspects required for the timely and accurate preparation and filing of all federal, state and local income tax returns of the holding company, subsidiaries, partnerships and affiliates included within the company's Federal consolidated income tax return.
* Prepare and assist in the quarterly and year-end tax provision.
* Prepare and assist in the timely and accurate preparation of all federal, state and local tax returns of affiliated companies that are not members of the Federal consolidated tax return.
* Prepare and assist the timely and accurate preparation and filing of the company's income tax returns in over 40 states.
* Working with local accounting staffs to provide guidance and ensure the timely and accurate filing of all sales and excise tax returns.
* Working with corporate accounting ensure complete and accurate income tax reporting.
* Respond to inquiries and audits from taxing jurisdictions.
* Assist in identifying, researching and implementing income tax savings ideas and strategies.
Experience Required
* 7-10 years experience in the tax compliance function of a complex, multiple entity corporation.
* Technical competency in SFAS 109 and FIN 48.
* Broad knowledge of federal and state taxation.
* General knowledge of tax compliance software.
* Advanced degree in Tax is preferable.
