Primary objective of this role is to own and manage executive and management-level relationships between Microsoft and our Distribution partner globally.
This leader will coordinate, motivate and lead a worldwide virtual-team of Partner Account Managers that will be responsible for developing Microsoft's business and relationship with our distribution partner. The leader will also manage the rhythm between the distribution partner leadership and key stakeholders within the MS and SMSG leadership teams.
Responsibilities:
Own revenue accountability for one of our largest distribution partners globally
Formulate overall strategy for the distribution partner and ensure consistent implementation globally in alignment with specific local requirements of regional/country operations of our distribution partner.
Drive efforts across Microsoft to increase sales and marketing and channel development initiatives between Microsoft and our distribution partner.
Develop and nurture executive relationships within the account and develop the team to do the same
Ensure global marketing execution is aligned with the overall goals and accountabilities of the account portfolio.
Exceed revenue budgets for each product category as defined in the account plan
Ensure team application of consultative selling process to drive key initiatives and achieve account objectives.
This position includes supervising the partner business plan creation process and includes removal of “barriers to success” for the organization
Recommended Qualifications:
Four year college degree in business/marketing or scientific discipline, or equivalent experience.
10 years of related channel sales management experience in sales/marketing background, including 4 years supervisory experience.
Prefer experience with distributors directly or as distributor employee.
Ability to develop quantitative business metrics tools both as a reviewer and an IC developer.
CXO level distributor engagement experience
Skills/Abilities:
Superb high-level sales and advanced negotiation skills required for engagement with large complex partners.
Broad expertise in industry trends and business practices.
Strong ROB experience and capabilities. Driving a standard ROB with all stakeholders in assigned region will be critical to the success of this role.
Proven ability to develop strategic business plans and oversee their execution.
Proven decision-making skills.
Strong organizational, planning and analytical experience, ability to analyze and interpret business performance measures. Ability to communicate the performance measures consistently across Corporate, Region and the Field.
Effective achievement of fiscal objectives according to plan.
Proven leadership, people management and collaboration skills across international boundaries essential. Ability to lead a team in fast-paced, evolving and highly collaborative environment.
Ability to effectively influence others across multiple MS groups, extended virtual teams, and with regional personnel, to achieve specific objectives.
Ensures organizational readiness for business demands.
Ability to communicate effectively and concisely - both orally and in written form.
Knowledge of core MS technology, product and technical strategies required. Proven knowledge of licensing/legal contracts.
