Job Description:
Fast-growing high-tech equity research firm seeks highly motivated systems engineer to collaborate on IT operations and projects—in a 24x7 Windows/SQL Server environment.
* Support critical systems and applications such as firewalls, switches, VOIP phones, VPNs, Active Directory, Exchange, Backup Exec, RAID storage arrays, and HTTP proxy servers
* Work closely with financial analysts, developers, and DBA to gather requirements and provide support
* Assist systems administrator—from helpdesk and operations to planning and executing strategic projects

Reporting Relationship:
The Systems Engineer will report to the Systems Administrator

Professional Qualifications:
* Minimum 3 years' related professional experience
* Proven experience supporting enterprise architectures based on Windows Server, Exchange, Cisco/HP, and open source tools
* In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, FTP, SMTP, SNMP and other LAN/WAN protocols
* Experience with storage, security, imaging, and virtual machine technologies, and with network change management tools
* Expertise with Linux, Squid, disaster recovery, clustering, SAN technologies is a plus

Education:
* Minimum of a 4-year degree preferably in computer science or MIS
* MCSE, Cisco, and PMI certifications a plus
