Roles and Responsibilities:
* Build a technology strategy that supports high volume commerce, customer service and the development of community and content to create a great consumer experience.
* Recruit, lead, manage and mentor a team of top notch IT professionals and software developers
* Create IT strategies, tactics and a project portfolio that are tightly aligned with company and departmental strategies and tactics
* Partner closely with the VP Product Development to develop technology strategies and solutions which enhance the customer experience and effectively differentiate company
* Collaborate effectively with the company's leadership team and cross functional departments and recommend technologies and solutions that support company needs
* Effectively manage the IT budget
* Onshore, offshore and infrastructure vendor selection & management
* Evaluate and identify appropriate technology platforms (including web application frameworks) for delivering the company's plans and objectives
* Lead the direction and management of all corporate enterprise resource planning (ERP) applications
* Lead the software and application development, deployment and QA processes including integration and system testing
* Drive business intelligence initiatives including data warehouse development, web site analytics etc.
* Oversee all network architecture and infrastructure support
* Share knowledge, mentor, and educate stakeholders with regard to the company's technological vision, opportunities, and challenges.

Candidate Requirements and Experience
* MUST HAVE:
10 years of relevant recent experience in a VP of Technology capacity in a web based, entrepreneurial, high transaction environment
* MUST HAVE:
Prior technical management experience for a team of at least 15 or more
* MUST HAVE:
Development experience with Linux, Apache, SQL, Perl, Java
* Proven leadership, management and communications skills; demonstrated ability to mentor middle level IT management team.
* Experience in managing the technical product development process from specifications to deployment
* Experience successfully partnering with a strong Product Development organization
* Experience in onshore, offshore and infrastructure vendor selection & management
