participates in the coordination of care for general orthopedics, sports medicine, general surgery and wound care patients. Provides operative support under the direct supervision of assigned surgeon. Performs diagnostic and therapeutic tasks to allow the surgeon to extend his/her services. Provides operative support, such as assisting during surgery, under the supervision of assigned surgeon. Provides direct patient care, adjusts plan of care as necessary and/or as indicated and approved by supervising physician to ensure optimal patient care. chedules and prepares patients for surgeries, injections, and diagnostic/therapeutic services. Coordinates information and orders with supervising physician and appropriate team members. Completes physical examinations, procedures and other diagnostic and therapeutic tasks as necessary. Executes and relays medical regimens as directed by the supervising physician. In collaboration with the surgeon, internal medicine physician, and orthopedic medical assistant, manages the anticoagulation clinic for the total joint patient population. Triages patient phone calls. Clarifies treatment plans and orders, provides referrals, refills medications, provides test results, triages patient symptoms and relates information to supervising physician. Assures that patients and their families are knowledgeable about disease processes, etiology, hereditary characteristics, prognosis, and details of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. Educates patients and their families about symptom management, physical limitations and surgical procedures. initiates, monitors, assesses, and completes appropriate medication refills per protocol, policy and/or supervising physician review. Communicates requested clinical information to insurance companies and other third-party payers as necessary. Supports the orthopedic surgeons in research through clinical trials, data collection, and new product development as needed and desired.

Experience: Must be a graduate of an accredited PA program.
Must have a minimum of a 1year of clinical experience in general surgery, orthepedic surgery or wound care.
Must possess a valid current, full and unrestricted licenbse from any State, District of Columbia, the commonwealth of puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
Must possess a current DEA license.
Must be Board Certified or eligible or demonstrate equivalent clinical expereince.
Retain US citixenship.
Health status allowing physical and mental ability to carry out required functions. This is to be verified on an annual basis by the employing agaency or a copy of a physical examination.
Must be able to work independently in clinic, without direct supervision.
