Click Here to Apply OnlineThe Senior Mechanical Engineer will manage a team of engineers and perform conceptual design, analysis and verification of airborne mechanical, electro-mechanical devices.
Design of structures, mechanisms, thermal systems & electronic packaging. Responsible for the mechanical specifications and planning related to stabilized optical systems.
If you do not possess the following DO NOT RESPOND:
1) EO/IR (Electro optical/ infrared) experience required
2) Opto mechanical design experience required
3) EI/OR design & Opto mechanical design experience must be RECENT(within the last recent 5 years)
4) must have design experience in airborne applications
5) US Citizenship required (due to security clearance requirements)
Other qualifications:
Experience with SolidWorks.
Mechanical engineering degree or equivalent experience.
A Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering is a plus.
Experience in packaging design including functional and transport shock requirements and testing.
Experience with product design, ideally aerospace experience.
Mechanical design of gimbals and thermal imaging systems for aerospace applications.
Testing of designs for performance, vibration, and thermal.
Payload dynamic response analysis of forced base inputs of vibration and shock.
Selection of connectors and wiring and PCB mechanical design for tight packages.
Qualifications:
- Required Skills:
Mechanical design and electronic packaging; structural and thermal analysis; CAD solid modeling, Familiarity with bearings and geartrain design a must.
Word, Excel, Power Point.
- Desired Skills:
Ability to work in a team environment with customers, internal and external, and co-workers.
A self-starter that needs a minimum amount of guidance. Solidworks solid modeling a plus.
10 plus years of experience in an electronics manufacturing environment.
Advanced knowledge of mechanical engineering concepts and practices utilized in an electronics manufacturing environment.
Requires skill in computer aided design/drafting and familiarly with sheet metal fabrication, injection molding, material science, thermal analysis, drafting standards, product documentation and component qualification.
