Click Here to Apply OnlineNational, public nonprofit 501c (3) corporation seeks an experienced development professional for its headquarters location in Washington D.C. The organization creates opportunities for low- to moderate-income individuals /families to improve their lives and strengthen communities by providing access to homeownership and to safe and affordable rental housing. The corporation is funded through a combination of public and private sources, with federal appropriation 83% of the total budget. Additional primary sources of income come from private sector partners from the financial services industry, law firms, retail and insurance companies, government agencies and corporate foundations. The organization seeks a Senior Manager, National Partnership Development who will report to the Director, Partnership Development and supervise three Managers.
The Senior Manager will be responsible for the successful identification, cultivation and solicitation of philanthropic funds from existing and new corporate, corporate foundation and private foundation partners.
Ideal candidate is currently serving in a development/fund raising capacity with a proven record of accomplishment in the identification, cultivation and solicitation of major gifts from corporate and/or corporate foundation sources. He/she will bring an established contact list of potential funding sources from national organizations in these sectors.
She/he will also bring:
* 8 to 10 years of proven development experience, preferably in a nonprofit setting with a minimum of 2 to 3 years experience in a supervisory capacity.
* Has successfully demonstrated ability to lead, encourage and motivate development professionals;
* History of successfully working with and closing corporate and corporate foundation gifts required.
* Motivated, high energy individual with outstanding written and oral communication skills, and history of successfully working with and closing corporate and foundation gifts.
* Previous grassroots activity and advocacy is a plus. Candidates with related experience in the private sector will also be considered.
* Bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience, is required; an advanced degree is preferred.
