Profitable and growing national dairy business is committed to expansion of NY profit center and has the customers and leadership in place to increase production and product offerings. This is a venture capital infused business and this hands-on leadership role will own part of the equity.

OPPORTUNITY
:
Center stage role in a 24X7 operation. Report directly to General Manager, have a dotted line to Corporate Quality Director, partner with leadership, and lead a team of 5-6. Lead and oversee all quality efforts. Coordinate with production in-process control to produce a quality products; lead customer complaint follow up.

Establish and audit SOP's , GMP's & HACCP to ensure high standards are maintained. Insure compliance with government regulations regarding quality control and facility requirements. Act as plant liaison in dealings with regulatory agencies and client company representatives and auditors. Coordinate with purchasing in order to ensure raw materials and packaging supplies meet specifications. Manage all aspects of the QC laboratory, including microbiological, chemical, physical and sensory aspects of all food products manufactured at this facility.

Evaluate new technology along with current systems to identify any cost savings. Participate on quality and production strategies for new products. Provide continuous leadership and guidance to assigned personnel. Direct assigned personnel to monitor the operation and personnel for safety compliance. Oversee the pest control program. Coordinate on the introduction of new methods or systems and programs for solving problem situations. Manage QCMS implementation and successful BRC audits.

REQUIREMENTS
: BA/BS degree in Food Science or Chemistry; 4 years of successful quality control and lab procedure experience with food or dairy. Proven ability to build successful teams, plan and organize, effective make decision, and communicate at all levels. Ideal candidates will have started their careers with Ben & Jerry's, Dannon, Dean Dairy, Garelick Farms, General Mills, Hood, Kraft, Land O' Lakes, Nestle, Sealtest, or Unilever.
