Click Here to Apply OnlinePlanned Parenthood Los Angeles is seeking a well organized individual with excellent verbal, written, presentation, and customer service skills to join the Facilities Team as our Chief Engineer.
Essential Functions:
Reporting to the Director of Facilities, the Chief Engineer is responsible for planning, organizing, directing and performing the activities related to maintenance, repairs and improvements to PPLA sites in compliance with established local, state, and federal standards. Responsible for day-to-day supervision of assigned employees.
This position also includes, but is not limited to:
* Ensures all PPLA centers and facilities are in safe, working condition and meet PPLA standards of appearance and comfort.
* Routinely visits and inspects all PPLA locations and engages Center Managers
* Proactively addresses issues and ensures timely completion of all repair orders
* Ensures all maintenance logs, service records and work tickets are current, accurate and accessible
* Directs and supervises Facilities staff in completion of maintenance and repair tasks
* Inspects and reviews 3rd
party services and repairs to ensure facilities are maintained to PPLA standards, and are completed within the terms of the Service Level Agreements
* As necessary, will personally perform or delegate and supervise building maintenance, including: Painting; Minor wall repairs; Floor maintenance/replacement; Carpet maintenance/replacement; HVAC basic maintenance; Minor electrical; Minor plumbing; Light Construction;Furniture, shelving and equipment assembly
Requirements:
* Able to perform complex analytical work in providing support for environmental, water, sewer, and electrical systems, in HQ and the field.
* Must have a valid California driver's license
* Able to lift/move items weighing more than 50 lbs using safe lifting techniques
* Ability to work independently and as a team member
* Ability to read and implement written instructions
* Ability to relate to diverse communities
* Professional appearance and attitude.
Education and Experience:
* Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required
* 5-7 years' experience in a management role in facilities engineering
* Experience supporting multiple sites
