STG International is currently recruiting for a FT Substance Abuse Counselor to support the Psychological Health initiative under the Psychological Health and Traumatic Brain Injury (PHTBI) program. The program seeks to address gaps in the care available for the prevalent injuries among combatants from the global war on terrorism. Through adoption of risk based staffing models and a uniform, best practice standard of care across DOD, the program seeks to ensure easy, rapid access to PH and TBI care for all beneficiaries and to ensure that transition across networks of care recognizes the unique care coordination and case management requirements for PH and TBI patients. The contractor shall provide personnel for service in the Substance Abuse and Rehabilitation Program (SARP) clinic at Naval Hospital Camp Lejeune, NC.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Perform a full range of Substance Abuse Counselor duties, in accordance with assignments under the task order and consistent with scope of practice for profession, including but not limited to, medical care and treatment and patient education in a knowledgeable , skillful, consistent, and continuous manner .
- Obtain or provide relevant information that will facilitate treatment, assist in developing programs, and service delivery relating to the SARP .
- Provide assessment of substance abuse and addiction.
- Provide assessment of patient's issues in addiction .
- Identify and document medical consequences of alcohol and other substance use , including withdrawal and detoxification.
- Facilitate the placement and management of patients in appropriate levels of care within the continuum of care model of the treatment of addictive disorders.
This position requires the applicant to provide proof of U.S. citizenship to work at the government facility. Applicants are required to complete a professional credentialing and background verification process, which can take 30 - 90 days, prior to commencement of employment.

Experience:
- Possess and maintain a current, unrestricted license or certification as a Substance Abuse Counselor in the State of North Carolina that is accredited by the North Carolina Substance
- Abuse Professional Practice Board (NCSAPPB) .
- Possess a minimum of 1 year experience within the preceding 2 years as a Substance
- Abuse Counselor in a Substance Abuse Rehabilitation Program which includes male and female clients .
Candidate must have the following:
- Associate of Arts degree in a behavioral science with specialized training in substance abuse and chemical dependency treatment or completion of the Navy Drug and Alcoho l Program Management Activity School that leads to Navy Certification as Navy Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor.
