Click Here to Apply OnlineOur client is a 5 year old, profitable, IT services firm that focuses on building Social Applications, Rich Internet Applications and Cloud Applications. Their clients cover a wide range, from top investment banks to early startups.
The Senior Developer is a key team member of the team. This person will be responsible for a portion of the overall system solution, including design and implementation tasks. Responsibilities differ depending on the phase of the engagement.
Responsibilities:
• Build software components that comply with the application architecture and detailed design
• Work with project managers and/or clients to scope work and produce estimates to help define deliverables and timelines
• Select technologies, recommend architectures and create technical design based on client requirements
Qualifications:
• 4 to 7 years experience developing database-driven, web applications in Java. Experience with Ruby/Python and/or Flex/ActionScript strongly preferred
• Proficiency across the range of J2EE technologies, especially Servlet API-based programming, JSP, JDBC, JMS, etc.
• Solid experience with front end development (HTML, JavaScript, CSS, AJAX) A MUST
• Strong Object Oriented Design and experience developing high-performance systems and web sites (caching, performance, messaging, serialization, etc)
• Hands on experience in open source technologies like JBoss, Apache HTTPD, Tomcat, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Axis, etc and developing applications in a J2EE environment
• Experience in open source web development frameworks like Struts, Hibernate and Spring
• Hands on experience using frameworks like WebWork, Struts 2, Spring, Acegi, Compass a strong plus
• Ability to pick up new technologies and languages by oneself to deliver client projects
• Experience working in a fast changing environment with tight deadlines
• Knowledge of RDBMS, database design and performing data extractions, conversions and manipulations. Worked with at least one of the following: Oracle, Sybase, MySQL, or PostgreSQL
• Ability to clearly communicate ideas and technical decisions will be strongly qualified throughout interview process
Most clients/projects are based in New York and New Jersey. However, as a consultant, travel is required as needed.
