Academic Director Position

Bradenton Beauty and Barbering Academy strives to provide an exceptional educational experience which improves the quality of life for our students through the necessary training of technical, academics, and relationship skills to excel in the beauty industry.

All aspects of the Academic Director Position are essential to Bradenton Beauty and Barbering Academy’s success.

Summary of Functions
The Academic Director will provide exceptional leadership and instruction to all staff members as well as support in any way possible. The Academic Director will champion the interests of the school’s customers-the students by constantly improving the academic curriculum at Bradenton Beauty and Barber Academy. This position also requires constant analysis on growing the clinic floor for the benefit of the students as well as growth for the academy. In addition, the Academic Director will work closely with administrative staff members to ensure proper inventory and product levels as well as other administrative functions. The Academic Director reports directly to the Executive Director and the CEO.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Provides positive role for staff members and students
• Assists in scheduling staff members
• Responsible for maintaining positive guest (client) and student relations
• Supervises clinic floor
• Manages instructors-conducts evaluations, trainings, recruitment, dismissal, etc.
• Responsible for ensuring preparedness for student’s state board examinations
• Establish Classroom routines and procedures
• More specific job duties and responsibilities to be discussed via interview process and will be provided at such time

Compensation
It is the practice and policy of Bradenton Beauty and Barber Academy to accurately compensate employees and to do so in compliance with all applicable state and federal laws.

Qualifications
• High School Diploma and/or GED
• Cosmetology License or Barbering License
• Cosmetology Teaching Certificate or Barbering Teaching Certificate
• 5-10 years Salon or Barber work experience (Management Experience Preferred)
• Availability to start within 2 weeks after offer made/accepted preferred
