Tumor Registrar needed for a mid-size acute care hospital in west Texas.

Job Summary: Oversees and maintains the cancer registry.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of medical records and coding (ICD-9-CM,CPT, ICD-O) practices and procedures; Knowledge of medical terminology as it pertains to tumors and malignancies as well as Anatomy and Physiology.

Compensation: $14-18/hour +doe

Experience: College courses required in health related field including medical terminology, anatomy and physiology; completion of certified course in coding for ICD-9-CM and CPT; one to three years experience as a hospital coder. RHIT and/or certified Coding Specialist and/or Certified Tumor Registrar is preferred.
