The pharmacy employs 4 Clinical Pharmacists, 40 Staff Pharmacists, and 35 Pharmacy Technicians. The Clinical Pharmacist enhances the quality of patient care by influencing safe, appropriate and cost-effective pharmacotheraperics through verifying medication orders, consulting with doctors and nurses on the appropriate dosing and selection of therapeutic alternatives for patients and assisting the physician by monitoring the metabolic and nutritional needs of the patient. The Clinical Pharmacist assists in the development of clinical pathways which involve monitoring protocol and compliance for medication orders, participating in quality improvement and drug utilization activities, providing documentation of services and serving as a mentor for pharmacy students. This position reports to the Director of Pharmacy and will work very closely with physicians and other allied healthcare professionals.

Compensation: Competitive Salary

Experience: - A Doctor of Pharmacy or Bachelor of Pharmacy is required
- Clinical residency or fellowship or at least 2 yrs direct clinical pharmacy experience.
- Must be licensed or eligible for licensure as a Pharmacist in the State of Louisiana.
- Prior Pediatric experience is preferred.
