SUMMARY
Candidate will work in partnership with our internal representatives and engineering management. Be the initial technical contact between the customer and our group, to develop opportunities that match our microwave business objectives for the assigned product group, pursue opportunities, present solutions, and capture new business consistent with the Plan.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES. Other duties may be assigned.
With our internal sales representatives, you will identify new business opportunities that are in alignment with our business and technical objectives, and that meet our forecast plans for the assigned product group.
Develop technical solutions to meet or exceed the requirements of the customer. Leverage core technology strengths to penetrate sales cycle early, work with customer engineering groups to provide solutions. Differentiate solutions from the competition, and develop effective mechanical packaging to support the best value offer to the customer. Must be able to quickly comprehend customer specifications or concepts and create functional block diagrams and component specification and analysis.
Work with the assigned product group Engineering Manager to fulfill the technical selling process. Act as the capture manager (per our internal Proposal Process) for all business pursued (less that pursued by Program Management, if not otherwise assigned).
Assist in proposal development, preparation, and proofing, in partnership with the engineering manager.
Grow professional relationships within the customer that can lead to new business.
Promote our microwave technology both at customer site and major trade shows that lead to increased opportunity development. Provide motivation and sense of urgency across our sales rep channels to pursue new customer accounts and introduce our technology within core and adjacent markets.
Maintain our forecasting tools and prepare management reports as required.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Reports to VP, Sales and Marketing and provides direct guidance to our field sales representatives and inside sales administration. (no direct subordinate staff)
QUALIFICATIONS
An individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Able to read, clearly speak, write, comprehend the English language. Ability to read, analyze and interpret complex technical specifications, SOW’s and other related documents. Ability to respond to complex inquiries from customers or members of the business community, with oral and written responses - required. Ability to effectively present critical information to ours executive management team.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
M.S.E.E. + 5 years related and current experience and/or training in RF/microwave subsystem/systems design through 30 GHz, or 15 years of current technical experience in RF/microwave subsystem/system design through 30 GHz. Demonstration of technically related experience and aptitude are required for this job, with emphasis on frequency generation and synthesis, including crystal oscillator and mixer technology. Need excellent computer skills to includ company provided software-based office tools, email, engineering design and analysis programs, ERP systems, and program scheduling software.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Ability to engage with customers on technical and programmatic requirements and synthesize those requirements with our core technology and production capabilities. Must have working concepts of cost estimation and general business financial operations.
The employee can expect to travel up to 50% of the time, including travel on weekends as required.
