Join John Deere--a proven business leader--and watch your potential grow.     John Deere A&T - Tractor/Turf division Waterloo Works facility is seeking a Commodity Quality Engineer who will be responsible for managing relationships with suppliers based on the commodity assigned.  This will include:  Lead/facilitate quality planning activities for machined casting commodity  Conduct supplier assessments, audits and drive conditional supplier improvements Review/Manage supplier change requests and lead/facilitate quality planning activities Implement short term containment and long term corrective action aimed at reducing supplier non conformances and defects    What It Takes We need an excellent communicator who has strong leadership & project management skills with the ability to coach quality improvements. Ideally, this person would have a Bachelors degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology or equivalent work experience. We also require:   Three plus (3 ) years experience applying quality improvement tools Three plus (3 ) years experience working in a machining environment Detailed understanding of inspection methods & gauging for machined castings. Detailed knowledge of part print / blueprint interpretation for machined parts and castings Experience with Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) requirements, quality planning, quality systems analysis, process capability, statistical measures, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) Understanding of various statistical tools: SPC, control charts, capability studies, Gage R&R Able to travel on a limited basis (10%)  We offer a comprehensive relocation package to help you get started on your new career path.
