Click Here to Apply OnlineOur client in Western Tennessee is seeking an Operations Manager to direct and manage all plant operations with overall responsibility for production, maintenance, quality and other production related activities.
The person selected for this position will be expected to achieve optimum staffing while meeting budgetary plans, manage and coordinate metal requirements with parent company to increase inventory turns while meeting raw material cost budgetary plans, implement strategies to reduce scrap, promote lean manufacturing processes, and achieve standards for product quality, equipment reliability, and operator performance. Will also be expected to develop practices to promote continuous improvement, continuously comply with company standards for cost control, waste reduction, quality, OSHA, safety, and other regulatory requirements, preserve fixed assets, develop, monitor and report on operating costs within functional areas, and advise facility managers and supervisors on labor issues including safety, security, employee relations, scheduling, training, employee disciplinary matters, etc. The Operations Manager will also ensure that managers and supervisors are adhering to company policies and administering effective pro-employee practices
Ideal candidates will be results oriented and have proven team building management skills, strong communication and interpersonal skills, a collaborative leadership style, and be organized and data driven. The Operations Manager should be adept at holding people accountable while also accepting accountability for results, and be an effective delegator.
Successful applicants should have a 4 year College Degree plus 6-10 years operational experience in a lean manufacturing environment (aluminum, stamping, casting, or metals highly preferred), or extensive and equivalent experience. Candidates must be proficient with computers and functional in MS Office programs.
