An experienced Podiatric PA is needed in central Texas. The ideal candidate possesses the ability to counsel patients, families, and groups in general podiatric care and is able to conduct and dictate medical histories, physical examinations, and discharge summaries on patients. The new PA will be responsible for the assessment and treatment of acute presentations to include infections, fractures, neoplasms, and congenital deformities. Other duties include: providing preventive care to healthy individuals, designing rehabilitation programs for patients, offering palliative treatment to chronic podiatric conditions, performing minor surgical procedures, and performing reductions of fractures and dislocations with the use of appropriate anesthesia ankle blocks, digital blocks, and nerve blocks. The PA will also perform work-ups in evaluating potential surgical candidates, including pre-operative histories and physicals with diction. There is no call for this position. Candidates must possess three years of midlevel experience and one year of experience as a podiatric PA. BLS certification and licensure in a US state is required.
