USA2 Unix System Administration 2

This position will support 2 client Accounts. This includes transition, transformation, and Run phases. This positions will install, monitor and maintain UNIX servers - Mainly Linux and Vmware. This position will participate in the support of multiple vmware farms for multiple customers. This position will also participate in the maintenance of UNIX based backup and recovery systems and participate in the implementation, and ongoing administration of multiple SAN architectures such as IBM and EMC Experience in High Availability configuration is a plus. This position will participate in a 24x7 support and require some off hour and weekend work. The successful candidate will also need to have excellent written and oral communication skills in the English language.

Specialized/Practical Knowledge: The successful candidate will need 3-4 years experience in UNIX server administration with an emphasis in Linux and Vmware . Experience supporting client/server based ERP solutions. Strong technical ( systems design) and analytical skills, including the ability to understand and convey complex technical information. Knowledge of networking, primarily TCP/IP and Storage networking. Experience with system clustering products such as Serviceguard, and knowledge of shell scripting . Excellent verbal and written communications skills. Experience developing and maintaining technical procedures and documentation.

This position requires the ability to understand customer business processes and provide hardware solutions to meet business requirements. Also requires interaction with multiple teams and resources within the Kansas City service center and throughout the Client organization.
