The Design Engineer is responsible for serving as a technical and design source for planning network changes, provisioning, and project activity. The Design Engineer works with key site staff, Service Provider personnel. The Design Engineer is responsible for the completion of an approved technical design. This position spans all technology disciplines which includes, but is not limited to, DATA/VOICE/ IP Services products like DNS, DHCP, NTP, AAA, Proxy, Websense, VPN (SSL/IPSEC), F5, Blue Coat, NetApp, WAO, Bind, Cisco CNR, UNIX, Linux, Microsoft technologies, Mobility (, BlackBerry, Remote Access VPN ? PPTP, SSL VPN), Load Balancers, Storage and Transport. Responsibilities: The Design Engineer?s responsibilities include the following:
1. Creating, validating, and auditing network designs.
2. Reviewing and validating requirements.
3. Utilizing network standards to compose network designs.
4. Developing a budget and scope document.
5. Reviewing budget and scope documentation to ensure the proposed solution meets the client's requirements.
6. Creating a design as per ML standards (includes all diagrams and configurations)
7. Creating equipment order lists.
8. Identifying technical impacts and risks for a given design.
9. Representing designs in the approval process
10. Developing all technical documentation.
11. Supporting the project team to address requestor?s technical questions with a design.
12. Providing Level 3 design engineering support to operations as required.
13. Working with project team to identify or recommend technical solutions.
14. Participating in Network assessments as part of Network planning and capacity management processes.
15. Providing Network analysis and design skills/expertise.
16. Based on Technology requirements, providing network design information in a timely, complete, and effective manner.
17. Reviewing detailed designs to ensure compliance
18. Performing technical assurance on Network services, to verify that equipment and software capabilities and preferences are incorporated into the design process.
19. Producing detailed designs.
Qualifications:
1. Experience in the financial services field.
2. Minimum five (5) years experience performing the responsibilities of the Design Engineer as described in this Exhibit A.
3. CCIE type certification in the technologies within the scope of the responsibilities.
4. Must be able to interact in a professional manner with End Users; must possess excellent PC, communication, and organizational skills.
