Responsible for management of temporary staff and overseeing they receive the appropriate training. This position will be responsible for all staff operations when the Manager is unavailable. The UM Lead position also will be responsible for all report generation for the department. This may include generating reports from Access or requesting reports be run by the IT department. Sutter Gould Medical Foundation (SGMF)is a non-profit, multi-specialty health care organization affiliated with Sutter Health. Based in Modesto, SGMF provides quality medical care, health education and research activities in a five-county area. SGMF's medical staff includes family practitioners, internists and pediatricians, as well as a range of specialist physicians. Services include imaging, nuclear medicine, a health library, health education programs, occupational medicine, diabetes education, nutrition counseling, infertility counseling, and weight management. Required Skills: High School Diploma or GED required. College business coursework required. Healthcare related field experience preferred. Appropriate experience may be substituted. Two (2) years experience working in a medical office in a customer service capacity, with a strong insurance background. Candidate must have previous working with computers working in an office setting. Previous experience as a lead person or management. Familiarity with basic management fundamentals. Knowledge of office workflow and processes. Knowledge of problem solving techniques. Knowledge of insurance guidelines and regulations preferred. Knowledge of computer systems and their software applications is essential for this position. An understanding of basic anatomy and medical terminology is preferred. Knowledge of computer systems and their software applications to include Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Access is essential for this position. Knowledge of office equipment operations and basic repair and maintenance is required. Knowledge of business letter composition is important. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in the English language are required. The ability to communicate professionally, calmly and effectively with challenging customer service interactions. The ability to motivate and train adults. The ability to complete multiple projects and manage shifting priorities with frequent interruptions is a required skill. The ability to keep both patient and business information confidential. Organizational and prioritization skills are required. The ability to work independently, prioritize work , manage time and workflow to meet deadlines. The ability to pay attention to detail is required. Well-developed phone and customer service skills are important skills for this position. Skills in the use of the office equipment.
