The primary purpose of your job position is to provide occupational therapy services to residents by assisting in the assessment, treatment, program planning and implementation, related documentation and communication. As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant, you are delegated the administrative authority, responsibility, and accountability necessary for carrying out your assigned duties. Responsible for providing occupational therapy services to residents by assisting in the assessment, treatment, program planning and implementation, related documentation and communication. Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Provides occupational therapy services to residents under the direct supervision of an occupational therapist. Assists occupational therapist in the evaluation process in the areas of self-care, functional mobility, and coordination. Assists in the evaluation of other areas as directed. Identifies indications for and assists in evaluations at appropriate intervals under the direction of the occupational therapist. Assists the occupational therapist in identifying a problem list, short-term goals, long-term goals and treatment plan. Assists in the selection of occupational therapy techniques/media and in the sequence of activities, adapts techniques/media as indicated by resident performance and following consultation with the occupational therapist. Monitors residents response to intervention and consults with occupational therapist if modification is indicated. Maintains acceptable resident care ratios as determined by the occupational therapist. Adheres to Occupational therapy Department procedures regarding documentation of occupational therapy services. Records billable treatment times according to Occupational therapy Department procedures and submits weekly/monthly statistics to regional office. Perform other duties as assigned. Must possess a minimum of an Associate Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program. Must possess current state licensure or license-eligible in state where applicable. Must be able to work independently. Must be able to manage multiple tasks at one time. Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 25 pounds to a minimum height of 5 feet and be able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet.
